Atlas C1 therapy in Malaysia, by the practitioner whose method is studied at Amsterdam UMC
The atlas is the top vertebra of your neck. When it sits rotated or tilted, the whole body compensates: migraine, neck and back pain, dizziness, a leg that seems shorter. Drs. Wim van den Berg has spent 15 years correcting it gently, without cracking, manipulation or x-rays. Now available to clients in Malaysia and Singapore.
One main treatment, one follow-up check. Consultations in Kuala Lumpur on scheduled dates. Watch Dr. Wim explain the method in his own words below.

Why the top vertebra matters more than it looks
The atlas, or C1, is the ring-shaped first cervical vertebra that carries your skull. Nerves, arteries and the brainstem pass through it. In many people it is slightly rotated or tilted from birth or after a fall, and doctors rarely check it because it sits hidden under the skull.
A misaligned atlas forces the rest of the spine, pelvis and muscles to compensate. That compensation costs energy and shows up as pain, tension and fatigue that other treatments only manage, never resolve.

Atlas Zone Therapy does not crack or twist the neck. A precision vibration device developed in Switzerland works on the short muscles just below the skull until they release, and the atlas settles back where it belongs. Most people need only one main treatment.
Intake and posture check
Dr. Wim looks at your history, leg length, pelvis and how your head turns. He palpates the atlas to feel the rotation.
Muscle release
The device applies deep, controlled vibration to the suboccipital muscles for a few minutes each side. Firm, but not painful.
The atlas settles
With the muscles released, the atlas has room to return to a better position. Many clients feel their neck lengthen straight away.
Follow-up check
A short second appointment confirms the atlas has held and your body is adapting. Aftercare guidance is included.

Complaints that often trace back to the atlas
Dr. Wim treats the cause, not the symptom. These are the complaints clients most often come in with, and where the practice sees the most consistent improvement.
- Migraine and chronic headache
- Neck pain and stiffness
- Dizziness and vertigo
- Leg length difference and pelvic tilt
- Back pain and lower back pain
- Insomnia and poor sleep
- Chronic fatigue and low energy

Drs. Wim van den Berg
Clinical psychologist by training, researcher into Transcendental Meditation for 50 years, and since 2009 an atlas practitioner. In 2011 René Schümperli, the Swiss founder of atlas correction, certified him as one of only six trainers in the world. With British osteopath Dr. Matthew Voigts he refined the method into Atlas Zone Therapy, and with Professor Aart Nederveen at Amsterdam UMC he set up the first university study into atlas misalignment.
Doctors, naturopaths and physiotherapists in the Netherlands refer their patients to him. He now brings the same method to Malaysia and Singapore on scheduled visits.

What clients say
It has made an enormous difference to how I feel in my body every day. Various aches have disappeared, everything feels smoother and more in balance.
A real breakthrough. Straight after the first treatment everything felt lighter, mentally and physically. Wim took my whole body into his analysis, not just my neck.
Better sleep, easier to fall asleep, a lovely freshness on waking. My posture improved and I move more freely swimming, walking and doing yoga. All of this after the first session. I also like that it doesn't require x-rays.

Frequently asked questions
What is atlas C1 therapy?
Atlas C1 therapy, also called atlas correction or atlas alignment, is a gentle treatment of the top vertebra of the neck. Dr. Wim uses a Swiss-developed vibration device on the short muscles under the skull so the atlas can return to a better position. There is no cracking, twisting or manipulation of the spine.
Is atlas therapy available in Malaysia?
Yes. Drs. Wim van den Berg of Atlas Zone Therapy (Netherlands) holds consultation days in Kuala Lumpur on scheduled dates. Clients from Singapore and other states are welcome. Message us on WhatsApp for the next dates.
How many treatments do I need?
Usually one main treatment is enough to reposition the atlas, followed by one follow-up check to confirm it has held. Some people with long-standing complaints choose a further session later.
Does it hurt?
The vibration is firm and you will feel pressure under the skull, but most clients describe it as intense rather than painful. The session takes about 45 to 60 minutes including the intake.
Is it safe?
The atlas is never forced. The muscles are treated, and the vertebra moves on its own once they release. There is no manipulation and no x-ray exposure. Read our full page on safety and side effects.
What does it cost?
Fees for the Malaysia consultation days are confirmed when you book. See what atlas therapy costs in Malaysia for what is included.
